I've trailered that way several times over 1000s of miles on a few different trailers now. The front axle of the car rests over the dual axles of the trailer and the rear axle is towards the tongue. I don't set the car towards the rear of the trailer, that would indeed cause a mess. But with the car rolled toward the front of the trailer, the weighting is perfect and the trailer doesn't bobble or sway all over the place.
